 The FOTCAR-4 converter is designed for the fiber optic transmission between CELL and RTU. Through this converter, the communication between CELL and RTU can be carried by optical fiber cables instead of copper cables.

 The FOTCAR-4 at the CELL side turns TS_close+- and TS_open+-, the switch inputs from the CELL, into optical signals and then send to the FOTCAR-4 at RTU side through fiber cable. The FOTCAR-4 at RTU side will then turn the optical signals into two channels of swith values and send to RTU.

  The FOTCAR-4 at the RTU side turns RC_close and RC_open, the swith outputs from the RTU, into optical signals and then send to the FOTCAR-4 at CELL side through fiber cable. The FOTCAR-4 at CELL side will then turn the optical signals into two channels of swith values and send to CELL.

  Two groups of signals are provided by FOTCAR-4, the master group and the standby. The working ones (master) are marked as CELL1 and RTU1 at the wiring posts, while the standby ones are marked as CELL2 and RTU2.

AIS: Optical signal not received at remote side, it should be off in normal state.

RNO: Optical signal not received at local side, it should be off in normal state.

ESYN: E1 synchronizaiton lost, it should be off in normal state.

OSYN: Optical synchronizaiton lost, it should be off in normal state.

 

 
                         
 

Cabling and Engineering

 

1.Connect the DC-48V power and the patchcord






2.Connect the switch cables of FOTCAR-4 at CELL side


  

TS_CLOSE+ and TSCLOSE-, the switch inputs of FOTCAR-4, should be connected to TS_CLOSE+ and TSCLOSE-, the switch outputs of the CELL. TS_OPEN+ and TS_OPEN-, the the switch inputs of FOTCAR-4, should be connected to TS_OPEN+ and TS_OPEN-, the switch outputs of the CELL.

RC_CLOSE, +48V and RC_OPEN, +48V, the switch outputs of FOTCAR-4, should be connected to RC_CLOSE +48V and RC_OPEN +48V, the switch inputs of CELL.


3.Connect the switch cables of FOTCAR-4 at RTU side


 


RC_CLOSE+, +48V and RC_OPEN,+48V, the switch inputs of FOTCAR-4 at RTU side, should be connected to RC_CLOSE +48V and RC_OPEN +48V, the switch outputs of RTU.

  TS_CLOSE+, TS_CLOSE-, TS_OPEN+ and TS_CLOSE-, the switch outputs of FOTCAR-4 at RTU side, should be connected to TS_CLOSE+, TS_CLOSE-, TS_OPEN+ and TS_CLOSE- of  RTU.
